Get all these guy's books while you can. JJ Luna survived, and escaped Spain's fascist regime and knows exactly how to stay invisible and PRIVATE. This is NO phony bunch of obsolete ideas that might've worked in the 1970s, this is all REAL use-able advice for TODAY in this decade and in future. So far as I've read, JJ Luna is THE sole author who has actual, workable rules on how to stay "invisible" in the vast global panopticon which sees our every thought and deed via digital miasma of bits & blips, Luna is "getting on in years" so I'd grab every title he's put out before they are all out of print and hard to find.Product details

I loved the ideas, I loved the pictures, wish there was more. I watch those RV shows on cable tv and have lived in a RV, such a feeling of freedom. It really doesn't take a lot to live in one of these although I've seen some truly fantastic ones. There is something so cool about being able to move your home to another location and see different scenery. If you can live with less, this may be something that you should consider.
Interesting ideas and thoughts how one might live "off the grid" so to speak. Various ways are given to survive with minimal resources at hand. Of course, the proof is always in the pudding. If you can live with these available means then it may work for you and yours. If it feels out of sort for you you might want to do more research and preparation before starting on this type of venture. But at least you have some worthy ideas of what you can do in the pinch.
I found this ebook most interesting after reading of high increase in suicide rates amongst babyboomers. Let's face it once you reach a certain age, your no longer prime real estate in the job market. Granted this is not how most of us would want to live but if I had to start all over again its beats offing oneself. Also less stress with less junk. I once lived in my rig (ex truck driver). Basically I trucked 48 states and used a P O Box as my address, when I got tired of the truck I rented a room. I was able squirrel quite a bit of cash without rent, utilties and wrote off road and hotel expenses.
This was a quick and worthwhile read
This book has very good info on selecting a vehicle to use to live off the grid. The tip about being careful with the vehicle's GVWR alone was worth the price of the book. What it does not contain, is any information about actually LIVING off the grid. In that respect, the contents fall a bit short of the title. But if you are thinking of selecting a vehicle to "go moblie," by all means, this is for you.
Pretty disappointed. If you’ve done any research on living off grid, skip this. Nothing more than a general introduction to living on wheels. A good google search will get you more info on this topic if you’re really interested in learning more. Love JJ Luna’s work, but not this book...
The story is interesting and somewhat motivational, but the book contains almost NO useful information. I was expecting at least some "how-to" information... trailer/vehicle layout, heating and cooling, water, waste disposal, cooking, sleeping arrangement, stealth provisions, etc.
If you want a quick, to the point introduction to the subject of living off the grid in a van, etc., THIS is the book you HAVE to read. It flows well. It has stories that make it interesting to read. It provides specific, actionable information regarding potential vendors, to include relative quality of some over others. It provides references to other information you can obtain to explore certain aspects of the subject further. In summary, it provides a good education without burdening you with irrelevant or tangential information that does not add value to your learning experience.
So why four stars and not five? Well, I think that our society has been influenced too much by the "self-esteem based" educational system, where kids are given medals so they "won't loose self-esteem" instead of for achievement. And so we have grown accustomed to giving top awards for people just doing what they SHOULD.
Now I think J.J.Luna has done a very good job with this book. For its scope, it's very good. But that is what I would normally expect from a respectable author. Had the book been much more extensive (without fluff) and completely all-encompassing, that would be taken into consideration. But the scope of this book, as it stands, is very good and its content is worthwhile. Lousy books by other authors don't increase the ratings of good books. They just decrease their own ratings (if we have discerning readers evaluate them).
So don't misinterpret my four stars. This book is excellent for its scope. It is well worth the time invested in reading it and the price the author charges for it (though I was VERY LUCKY and got in on special).
If you are interested in the subject, get this book. You won't regret it.
